ADUS' methodology combines the most accurate positioning and motion reference compensation systems with the highest definition multibeam sonar available, all deployed using ADUS' innovative method. ADUS surveys offer highest definition available, with exceptional accuracy and at least 100,000 times faster than traditional tape measure surveys by divers. Surveys can be done in environments where divers would find it difficult to achieve results, such as in low visibility and strong currents.

High resolution multibeam sonar surveys can also be repeated at regular intervals to offer unprecedented levels of monitoring in order that significant changes in either the structure of the site, or the surrounding seabed morphology, can be observed and quantified. In 2005 ADUS formalised its links with Reson Offshore Ltd, the manufacturers of the highest definition multibeam sonar systems available. This special relationship allows continued development of effective methodologies to produce the highest resolution surveys possible on submerged archaeological sites.
